Motorex does not do it anymore .The guy that actually started Motorex from what I know got arrested for shady deals ( http://tyndago.googlepages.com/motorexstory ) . The feds are cracking down on Skylines importation and in some states pulling the registrations and destroying the cars . I have a R32 at the shop now getting a motor built and a friend with a R33 that is forsale for the right price .. ( $33000)

My freind with the R33 brought his in through Canada . After a years worth of investigating he found it was the easiest way . I will try to get a hold of him and see who he used to help him in Canada .

motorex is a rip off
dont take this the wrong way 33,000 for a R33 may work on someone that has never imported one be for. I all ready found the car. problems are matson shipping no longer offers bonded freight for cars and getting the car to the port in japan to be loaded. Japan partner well bring the car to port but you have to buy there car. As for canada finding the car is key, bring it to the us is can't be any harder then moving a car from Baja. U.S bonded truck 2-3days in customs and have all the right documents or docs and a flat bed and know the right people 48hrs.

The thing is for $33k you have a BPU R33 that has already been legally titled and registered . You dont have to deal with any of the hassles.

Never said it was a great deal . He does not need to sell it .

You are looking for a "TRACK ONLY CAR " so you dont need to deal with the issues as much . Still not sure all the legalities as the Federal DOT has been putting a stop to importing them . If they allow it in the Title will be stamped race use only and you will never get to put it on the street .

Good luck

Federal dot didnt stop letting people import them or title them you just have a three more forms and a tax.

so heres the run down on cost if any one wants to know.

2000 r34 gt-r bone stock = 17,500.00
trans to dock prep for shipping from Nagoya= 760.00
1996 GTR V SPEC skyline = 2,500
bonded car container and shipping to LA= 6,000 for both cars
trans from LA to my home= 2,500
fees for customs transport and inpsect, bill of landing paper work =10,000 ( covers the english trans of title prof of owner ship and import evo impact tax and the run of the mil crap
total cost 39,260
note thats for two car and all doc for a clean import .
title the car will be about 700.00 per car if I want to have the title say skyline
if i 240i or nissan misc the title even less.
and that for street use
to track use the car I just have to have the title and tow and trailer the car and my tech docs.

you can cut a few grand out if you cheat but your car may sit in customs tell the feel like dealing with it.
note some cost was saved cause of contacts I have in japan to insure money goes where it needs to and going bonded and have the car prep for shipping ie coast guard cks, customs inspections washed and fuel and leak checks done.

I still plan on tracking my r34 GT-R as for the v-spec was a whim buy and really was cheap and didnt have to pay any more to ship it. so why not.

just out of curiosity, why not get one from Australia? wouldn't it be cheaper to buy on the Aus dollar vs the Yen and deal in English paperwork?

A buddy of mine got a japanese spec STi shipped in pieces from Japan a few years back. I think it was a wrenck. he installed the motor, suspension, interior and drivetrain in a beige, base model impreza himself.
