Bill if you feel there is a need for a local organization for protection with insurance then by all means i say go ahead. people will review the structure and make a decision to join or not. I will say that everything that you mention with regards to the benefits, sponsors, activities of nes2ko were all highlighted when you took over the position of CO within New England.

BUT again Bill if you feel this is needed then I will support you and your efforts and move forward

I would suggest we post a thread to gauge interest in establishing a formal car club, and get the insight of all the potential members. I see the same people posting in this thread yet we are getting no feedback from the potential membership. Maybe it's as simple as posting a poll and list the benefits of having a car club.

I would love to believe that, Steve. But I think you will continue to undermine any efforts to make the club a success out of spite for the way things have been handled in the past.

Steve, as a great all around guy, you have a big influence on folks here. Look at the way you have been able to make Dave hate anything to do with nes2ko when he never experienced it himself and really doesn't know what it is. You shouldn't use that power lightly.

After all the BS about Glenn not being around that you have put out, newer people really think that nes2ko is just all aboutn Glenn.

It's not.

It's about you, me, everyone that goes to meets and events together. that is a car club. And whether you officially join or not, taking part in events and being the great guy that you are by helping folks all the time makes you a HUGE part of that car club.

The only difference I see between officially joining the club and not is that if you join you get a say so in how it's run and the benefit of the insurance. If not, you get no say so in the clubs direction and no insurance. If you don;t care about either, don't join. But don't taint other people's ideas about what the car club can be to them because of a perosnal vendetta. That's all this is when it boils down to it.

You might make the argument that "everything runs fine with no club". Yup, it runs OK with no formal club. I say lets see how much BETTER we can make it and watch it grow if we have some form of organization to our individual efforts.

In the end, there will be people who join and get to take pride in the club. there will be those who don't join and loaf off of the club's efforts. No one will be excluded, but personally I will take pride in knowing that I help to make it happen, even if just by paying my dues.

I know what you are trying to say, Steve. But to me, a group of folks getting together in person on a regular basis is called a club, not a website.

What we choose to call that club is the issue here I guess.

BTW: I am getting sick of the goat. I may have to trim it soon, but I think I can hold off another month till I at least go back to work for light duty. It's starting to flap around like ZZ top on me.

F that.

I would love to take a more active roll but I know that once I go back to work, I will really not have too much time. Add two small boys and a wife and my time is limited. I will support in whatever way I can.

It will be like when Johnny damon shaved for charity....

If you join the club, I will shave my goat at Lainey's BBQ this weekend!!!
