Ok, we went through the first round. Thanks to Ellen for helping the COs (mostly Jeff who was good enough to do the dumping after Ellen did the identification).

Many vocal members still want more people dumped. This is the final chance to get rid of more of our old friends. Vote away.

I voted for choice two. Badging people from all over the world just makes the badges themselves useless. People from all over the world can post here all they want, but you wither live here or you don't.

If not, why not just let people go from forum to forum and pick whatever badges they think are "pretty" when they have not much to do with that region.

Here is what our brethren from the Mid-A do (taken from a sticky in their forum):

Some people, like our own JT like various badges...BTW, we also gave badges to folks from various areas who made the trip our way for the Nor'Easter 2006. I don't think we should take them away.

I don't think we need to be quite as stringent as the MidA folks. Heck I went to two meets there last year, and still I get no badge. Meanwhile, I proudly sport the NY Upstate one thanks to a trip or two there.

So then the badges are not to denote any membership actually, just as a form of party gift?

Well, yeah!

We could adopt a harder line, in the future, on passing out badges, but for me I have bigger things in life to worry about.....

If we do take a different stance on passing out badges, I still think anyone who spends time and money coming to our Nor'Easter event deserves a badge if they want one.

About 20-30.

Very astute observation Jerry.

However the badge denotes that "I slayed the dragon"

Not that "I live on the dragon"

If someone is going to gripe because they came to a meet and didn't get another badge, they have issues. Having a badge for something you really don't represent is what I think kids call being a "poser"

well than why not make a NE badge and give those out for people that come and "spend money"

The badge denotes the "Local" membership roster

guess a bigger question is what denotes membership in new england

Option 2. If you don't live in NE. Then no badge. Our only exception should be our Upstate members as NY is just as close as northern VT etc.

The badge reads New England S2000, not I drove my S2000 to NE once.
