Default Legality of Clearing Headlights in Mass.?

Want to clear my signals.

A.) Will clearing the turn signals next to the head lights pass MA. inspection as long as the turn signal bulb throws off orange?

B.) There's no problems clearing the side markers using JDM & orange bulbs right? Pls. say yes as they ar already on order from Muz

I also agree

White or orange bulbs are fine... as long as they work you will pass

I have the JDM lights with orange "silver" bulbs and have passed two inspections already

GS2K,
Where were you able to get the silvered ones, or did you make your own?

Is there a parts place around the Wrentham/Franklin/Mandfield/Foxbob area that has them?

Ok... here is the deal on the orange "silver" bulbs.

Since I have the JDM headlights, the stock US turn signal lamp sockets do not fit the imported housings. They have to be glued into place, a poor solution for an important safety feature of the car's lighting system. Moreover the stock sockets use a wedge bulb that is very hard to find in amber.

To solve this problem, Rick's imports JDM turn signal sockets that fit the European and JDM housings. These sockets are a simple plug and play installation, and the stock wire harness connection fits them perfectly. And because the sockets have a bayonet mount, the choice of bulbs expands considerably, since many more bayonet bulbs are available in the accessories market.

And the orange"silver" bulb does come as an option for this.

Here is a thought / alternative if you are interested. Also I left the thread open for others to comment. As you can imagine, this is just something for those that don't wish to futz with alternative sockets but rather utilize our USDM OEM housing/sockets...and just replace the diffusers...and still keep an amber turnsignal indicator.

Interesting point some make about the US requirement for an amber "reflector" at front of autos for night time visibility. Especially given what I do as a side-business, I'll go with the vast majority of folks and say that there is little likelihood that this mod will be noticed by police or that it will negatively impact an inspection. In my opinion, this little mod will likely make your clear corner effort "more legal"...although again, someone could be a stickler about the amber/orange reflector issue in and of itself.

Here's my link on the bulb mod if you're interested. Its also always available in my "w1ngman clears corners..." sig link as well . Here ya go ==> Stealth Turnsignal Mod...For Those With Cleared Corners
