2011 Boxster Spyder

Porsche will use the Los Angeles Auto Show in December to launch a new addition to its sports car lineup, the 2011 Boxster Spyder. The purist roadster will be the lightest Porsche on the market, weighing just 2,811 lbs.

The 2011 Boxster Spyder goes on sale February 2010. U.S. pricing is $61,200
from: Reuters press release

Wow, talk about getting a jump on the 2011 model year a bit early. Sounds like a decent car for the price. However I'm mixed on the styling.

I agree, that is really early for a 2011 release.

The only styling element that hasn't grown on me is the graphics. It reminds me of the "TURBO" graphics that used to adorn sports cars back in the 80's.

Bill, does this mean you are not a fan?

I'm loving the movement towards making cars lighter! Hopefully this will continue!

The weight saving comes from deleting AC and radio as well. Not sure if I'd want to part with those. If using it as a track car only the Cayman probably make more sense.
