On the Mac, you do have to buy their word processing program for $49. the neat thing about it, after you create a document in Mac format, you can convert it to word format in order to comminicate with the poor people that have PCs.
And now, a word about Windows 7. sounds like they are trying to develop it like Apple develope thier software. why buy from the company that just figured out how to do it right? Buy from the company that has been doing it this way for years!!

As I mentioned in my previous post, I really like the Mac... but I do find it amazing that people are so willing to open their wallets and fork over money simply because it's easy and shiny and they feel good about it. Where if they spent the same amount for the same feature on a PC, they'd say it's a ripoff.
Heck, just compare the hardware specs in something like this:
HP Core i5 Windows7 PC that costs $1000
to the high end Mac Mini, at $800 for the Core2 Duo. Less than half the processor power, half the RAM, one third the hard drive space, and hardly any extras.
It's nice, but don't tell me you don't pay a premium for a Mac.
And at the end of the day, the 'poor people with PCs' still have more options and more control.

Or you can just use OpenOffice for free.

Purchased the new MacBook for my son.
I knew just looking at the title of the thread that this would be a doozy of a discussion.
Mac's are one of those things once you get there you never want to go back.
