Funny thing is...I grew up on Macs. And since I build my own computers, I'm not too big into Apple products anymore. They're far too overpriced for what it is.
If I didn't care about being able to play any popular games and wanted an OS that was stable, secure, and less of a memory hog than Windows - I'd switch back to Linux.
Mac OS X has nothing over a good solid flavor of Linux (except for maybe programs to manipulate graphics). But at least Linux doesn't trick you into installing new software when simply trying to update your old software - or refuse to allow you to turn off 'plugins' such as QT...

Although this may be true in the big picture, there are clearly several areas where this is 1,000% wrong. You will not find 90% microsoft usage anywhere in the graphic arts industry.
