Default Moving to Boston...

hey guys,
its likely that i am moving to the boston area year after my gf graduates law school at BU this spring. I visit about 3-4x a year, but wanted to get a better idea of how realistic it actually is for me to own an s2000 in the area.

Things I will need to consider is parking, so the housing costs for me to find a place with a garage vs without, is a garage even feasible without paying an arm and a leg etc. Theft, and weather also concerns me. Currently she lives off Common Ave near BU and we are open to moving a bit further out in either direction that makes sense to accommodate our needs.

Thanks for the help

Hey man, welcome...or pre welcome...to Boston. I live right near BU and I pay 125 for parking. It is very affordable in my opinion to house yourself and a car for $700/ month for yourself near BU area in Allston. This is ofcourse when splitting with another person. My roommate goes to BU and he walks there everyday so not far at all if you want a comparison.

I lived in Downtown and payed 1100 for just myself without parking. Parkin in downtown goes from 250-300 so at the end of month ended up paying, like you said, an arm and a leg. Now I am living near BU Very comfartably for less a less than 1000 which I am def happy about.

Anyways, let me know if you have any questions. It would be great to have another person with an S around here as I dont know one person with one...lol.

Thanks for the response Sean.

is the $125 for a garage? or is that underground parking? I might look just a hair outside of allston also, the area is a bit loud for me. im an old man at heart, and its too central to the crazy college kids

anyone have suggestions on what sides of town i should be looking at?
