OK, I give. Where is it?

The exception to this is obviously something vulgar, obscene or out right immoral. I don't think that anyone can make an argument that the NE hottie thread rose to any of those criteria.
it wasn't obscene, or vulgar, I can't speak for Bill, but this may be a case where the rules are a bit more clear cut. There IS an entire forum for the hottie pics. But, I'm bowing out of this discussion now.
This kind of thing (debating what should or shouldn't be enforced, dumped, or edited) is the reason I didn't want to accept any nominations for the CO job.
again to quote bill this morning - that thread was simply his "social experiment" - i am speculating here BUT i think he knew it was against the rules - and he was waiting for me to post as such before it was dumped
but i don't want to speak for bill.. i'm sure he'll chime in

I thought having COs appointed was to foster growth of the community. That sounds like a great idea. Where censorship plays into building the community, I don't know.
Or, put another way...
Supposedly the forum has "run itself" fro so long with no problems but we needed some new idea to build the community/activity levels. I'll go as far as saying I agree with that. What I don't understand is if posts like that one and others would have flew for the past few years, what has changed now that they don't?

well jeff,
we certainly have enforced the sig limits before.
nobody wants to get out their pixel rulers.
but when they have gotten out of hand, social pressure has brought about change, while not necessarily enforced via CO actions.

Why doesn't peer pressure apply to all of our rules then?
Do we need to be told not to post a picture of a lady in a bathing suit?

The board is safer now!
I gotta go with there is a time and a place.
we have a hotties forum so it's not like they are being banned.
we also have a general forum based on geography.
we have female members who preferred not to have the material in the general forum.
the community does generally police itself but sometimes the CO can step in.
example:
Kenta removed his rick roll post long before the CO's took action.
I don't know that there was a specific rule that covered that but the community expressed displeasure and the member acted responsibly.
