Default Paper clips for root canals?

Root canal

Stay away from mall dentists!!!!

A dentist in Fall River has been accused of some shocking surgeries.

According to the Attorney General, that dentist used paper clips during root canals.

Between the fall of 2003 and 2005, Dr. Michael Clair had a dental practice at the New Harbour Mall shopping center in Fall River. His license had already been revoked in two other states.

However, former patients of his are only now coming forward about the botched dental procedures they received at his office.

One former patient said Dr. Clair actually lost his son’s dental records. Another said the dentist called him a “crybaby,” and a third even said she believes she still has a paper clip stuck in her mouth.

One former patient who wished to remain anonymous said she was not surprised to hear about Dr. Clair’s indictment.

“I’m not surprised he’s being indicted... He had given me a needle that caused my face to really become swollen, and he kept wanting to do root canals, everything was a root canal,” she said.

And they wonder why we hate the dentist! Someone should stick a paperclip up his ass.

I make it a policy to stay away from the "doctors in a box" and the "dentists in strip malls". I once heard that many of the doctors and dentists who work at the strip mall places are there because they can't work elsewhere due to other "problems" they have had. And then you have the owners of those places who are often "shady" at best.

If they use the rusty paperclip, trust me, the pain will return.

Too bad there is nothing about stopping this sort of abuse in the Health Care Reform bill.

I saw that on Fox news last night. Some dentists are evil, man, esp. those that deal w/ ghetto medicaid patients. Since it's not out of their pocket, they agree to whatever treatment and unnecessary extra stuff the dentists suggest. You'd be amazed the extent those dentists go to cut corner while billing medicaid the full rate. Tax payers end up footing the bills.

Get paid under the table or just stop working altogether. Let the welfare flood flow in - it's the American way

VERY FEW dentists accept Mass Health or Medicaid patients. Many feel the reimbursement they are given is not worth their time. So if you have that kind of insurance, you go to those who accept you.

Some dentists and other providers that accept the public assistance patients obviously find a way to scam the government. It's been happening for years, and there should be a better system of control.

Many years ago a local pharmacy was filling prescriptions for a nursing home. He was billing Medicare for prescriptions that were never filled. He got caught, license was suspended for a long time and he lost his business, rightly so!

There also was an article somewhere about store front operations who convince people who are on Medicare of Medicaid to give them their SS number, for a small fee. Then they take the numbers and bill out bogus medical charges. Millions and millions of dollars in fraud.

This guy in FR allegedly was having his employees fill narcotic scripts and handing most of the pills over to him...I think he had a "sideline" going here.....
