Good luck with the move. As for moving into any new england state. You will have to take into consideration folks around here are a bit on the conservative/reserved side. Also as far as cost of living, yes it is much higher although you have to take into consideration the services you get. Alot of folks get lured into moving down south for the tax savings but then get surprised that there are HOA fees, Crap schools, infrastructure etc... and with all the northern folks moving down there its a big mess and eventually it will be on par with up here.

As for the seasons. If you are into winter sports then you will love it here. If not very active during the cold months you will literally hate yourself for coming up here.

Also if it helps try this site - http://www.city-data.com/forum/massachusetts/

my biggest gripe is taxes and the amount of money we give to social services that do nothing for me.

Oh, c'mon. Rhode Island's not even an island...sheesh...That should tell you something about the people that live there...
I like your logic. Your post sounds like an Erick/elmmx5 post. You'll fit right in here.

I'm pretty sure that the actual name of the place is "State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations" -- are they growing pecans, cotton, or tobacco on the plantation parts? If so, can they grow some tobacco for me and Bass without the FSC additive? And where do they have room for these plantations in that little punk of a place?

Hey remember a while back where I got pissed when I looked at the bulk of our state expenditures going to social services?

Well took a gander at our Tax information in CT. Well interesting facts. Did you know that our greatest amount of taxpayers at 10% of CT's total come from Federal AGI of $100,001 to $150,000 and pay about 14% of the tax to CT.

In fact CT taxpayers with AGI of 100,001 and greater pay 75% of CT's income tax, this population is only 20% of the states total income taxpayers.

Yeah we need more liberal tax and spend democrats

Yeah I am sure they worked through the job skills and education needed to make that 20k. Also if the person is really working that hard I doubt their making 20k.
