Outstanding!

So that's because of the wood heat addition you have?

I'm on natural gas, my firnace is brand new, but my hot water tank is both huge and old, and I fear not very efficient. I want to go with a tankless on-demand system but can't just yet as the new furnace was an unexpected cost just 4 months ago.
This is almost entirely due to the wood stove. I have a gas furnace that's probably 20 years old, a water heater that's about 10 years old and a house with next to no insulation and single pane windows. I shudder to think of what my heating bill would be without burning wood.

nope it's because he doesn't turn the heat past 50 EVA
This isn't entirely true. For the first few cold weeks this winter, I couldn't figure out how to get my fancy programmable thermostat not to default to "Energy Star" settings and not have the house at 70 when I got home. Now I keep the temp inside the house held at 50 degrees and use wood to make it warmer. The garage goes up to 60 or so when I'm out there working, and that uses gas as well.

oh ya - Gas furnace is 90+% effecient BUT still that's cheap
what's your t-stat set at
Yup, I'm still in shock the chimney flue is now just PVC poking out the wall above the concrete basement wall. My new gas furnace is 96.5% efficient, and the biggest change is now my house is actually warm and comfortable, I really had no clue as to how crappy the old one really was.

Keep in mind, I really like it cold at night.

Mon - Fri
4:30 AM - 6:30 AM = 69 degrees
6:30 AM - 4:30 PM = 64 degrees
4:30 PM - 10:30 PM = 69 degrees
10:30 PM - 4:30 AM = 55 degrees

Sat - Sun
4:30 AM - 10:30 PM = 69 degrees
10:30 PM - 4:30 AM = 55 degrees

Anyone else getting snow? Coming down pretty hard right now but so far only a dusting.
