I spent $9 to go through my local car wash in my s2k and I'd do it again. It's a decent touchless one that hits both the underbody and wheels.

I dare you to pop the hood.

When I took my dust cover off last night there was a tiny bit of dust on the trunk lid and the cover itself let off a big cloud of dust. I'll need to give that guy a big cleaning before using it again. Better in the cover than on the car though, paint still had a nice wax feel to it from the October cleaning

The dust in the cover is normal, and a major pain. Even the huge washing machines at the laundramatt are too small to really give my covers room much room to rinse properly because my covers are Evolution 3 and 4, a thick material. I have found just washing them does not remove all the dust, which can cause scratches, so here is what I do.
Out in the driveway between two trees I tie up my cover, as mine has gromet holes (or you could just use a couple of step ladders and drape the cover over them). Then, get under the cover, and take your leaf blower in there with ya. Now, turn on the leaf blower and have at it. I blow the dust right out of the cloth with the leaf blower which does a fantastic job to clean it. Personally I think this gets out way more dust and dirt than washing. And remember, blow from the inside, so you are forcing the dust off the cover, do not blow from the cover's outside towards the inside because that would just bury some of the dust and dirt right into the fabric.
I suspect it must look like a giant grey blob is trying to eat me and I'm fighting it off...

The stuff you people with covers go through!

My garage is very dusty, I even take a sheet of plastic and put it over just the top upper surface of the cover so a good portion of the dust never gets to the cover. I also use small 1"x1" strips of wood between the cover and the plastic so the plastic does not rob the cover's ability to breath.

Here is what I do, the upside is all your neighbors can watch you and think you have completely lost your mind....

I could always use the air nozzle on the end of my compressor if need be.
And, just so we are clear, I have NEVER used my leaf blower to blow leaves. I bought my 210mph blower for only one reason, I use it to dry my car. I do not use a microfiber to dry the car, my drying is completly touchless, and does an awesome job as it removes the gallons of water hiding behind badges, between body seems, inside rear view mirrors and all the other little places water gets trapped.
I figure the neighbors are much more amused by my constant leaf blowing of both cars in the summer than they are of the cover clean once in the spring.

BTW- the leaf blower dry method is an extremely highend car detailers trick because it completely eliminates one whole cycle per wash of when you can scratch the paint, and in fact drying is when many scratches are created because when you are washing the lubrication of soap does a lot to prevent scratching.
Yes, I'm anal...
