I'm finally to the point where I am setting up my office today - ugh! I have 2 boxes of wires, network cords, electrical connections, power strips, and who knows what else - I had "help" packing Who wants to come over and help???

When I moved I had a 100 lb box of everything from power strips to HDMI cables. It was hell trying to find the home for all of it.

Going better than I thought - I am much happier after finding my network hub!!! Sorted into piles now and hooked up a few things. It looks like I will have to setup my printers again though since this is now a local network and not IP based like in old office where I had a "network guru"

Local networks are still IP based. they just use an "private" network hexadecimal coding. Like 192.168.1.1 etc...

i think ellen is saying she's on a dhcp configuration instead of having static IP addresses assigned to priinters etc.

and yep it;'s a pain in the butt to have to got through and change 'em

With a little work she can just automatically assign IPs to the printers through the router so it's static IPs.

I had to do that with my router in order to set up some auto logging scripts.

So I just got a call from the HR office to come down and fix some form I had signed last year. Apparently during an audit my form was noted as being in non-compliance because I signed my name above the signature line and not below.

Isn't that wonderful?

All I did was delete the printer and let my mac find it again That was only for one - the other HP 'just worked' - no messin' around at all - Macs are pretty damn user friendly
