The random, off-topic thread.
The best wedding I have ever gone to was a very small affair, including the bridal party and guests maybe 60 people at most. The ceremony was held early in the morning out in the woods. The guests faced east out an opening in the woods, overlooking an oat field. As the sun began to rise the combination of the sun's glow, the low thin morning fog and the silver oats made the scene pure magic.
The bride and groom were up un a small platform and this mind blowing sunrise was the background behind them. I remember one lady asking me just before the ceremony "where are the speakers hidden?" I asked her what was she talking about, she said the beautiful serene background music, where is it coming from. I just looked at her and said "that's song birds doing their morning thing..."
The rest of the day was spent hanging out at the bride's parent's house. Food was all handles by a BBQ company that came in with a huge gas grille behind a pickup. We just ate and drank the whole day. Best wedding ever!
