Well then I guess you and I are good for 4/28 No one has ever asked me about that before other than on the tech inspection sheet which I do complete but no one seems to look at that.
Not all instructors are created equal...

As a BMW CCA instructor I'm proud to say we as a club offer a very specific Instructor Training School program, we do not let people teach until they have passed the program. It's my life that is out there on the line and my risk management profile is what I would consider conservative.

just use the turkey baster method - works fine
Note to self, NEVER get into his car...

All you are doing is taking the dirty fluid from the top of the system and replacing it with fresh. You are doing nothing to change the fluid down at the calipers, which is where it matters. Brake fluid is not a stable thing, it breaks down, believing the baster method is just fine is not a wise idea, sorry, but that is just not safe.

In my owners manual it does warn that non Honda fluid may cause corrosion, etc etc. Pure fiction so I buy their products or actual fact? I plan to have this car way longer than most people here

They do agree with only using fluid from a sealed container

Do you have mostly complete running gear or just bodies and some parts?

I don't know, maybe I do just want to have the dealer do some of this stuff. I do want the system flushed if I am going to goto all the expense of doing it at all.

I totally agree with your view point on safety Doug, I'm still learning alot and most of my instructors have just not asked any questions about the car

The Honda OEM fluid is good, it is not a competition fluid but it is indeed good. I think the concern there is if you replaced with a product inferior to the OEM, not superior.

http://hondas600.com

I have enough of everything to make nearly 3 cars. Rear ends, front axles, transmissions, you name it I got it. I have a complete running engine and a just gone through tranny - both "Brian certified".

The storage of parts and bodies is all F'ed up because of Joe and his poor storage habits - it's in about 10 different places and we almost never worked on the car together. He always had something else more important...

This was a CONSTANT battle between us... I know, not many women leave their husband because he won't work on their car with them

So Doug I think I am going to get the hard top mounting - looking like less than $400 my cost - which means Lime Rock will be an option...

Do you have any plans for LRP this year with SCDA? I had not previously considered the option to go so I have no dates even thought about yet.

I would like to do NH once this year to keep it in memory but will probably try to do one LRP date if I have the opportunity...

I flush mine with about 1.8 pints before each school. I honestly don't know the actual capacity, but I have been told by my Honda mechanic I'm pushing enough fluid through the system.

And FTR- my mechanic does this as part of my tech inspection because I do not have a pressure bleeder, any desire to deal with old fluid, nor a friend who can always come over and pump my pedal. I abuse ny friends enough just putting the HT on and off...
