The random, off-topic thread.
Jacking this car is a pain in the butt if you insist on jacking like I do, from the center front or center rear, I will not jack from the sides.
The problem in the front is the jacking point is so far under the car, most jacks actually end up with their handle under the car and then you can't do the jacking.
The problem in the rear is my jacking point is almost completely out of sight, and very hard to get to because of the exhaust.
I have used this jack for more than a decade, it's not the fastest thing, but it is strong enough and it gets into the space I need it to get into. And yes, it only takes me about a million pumps on the handle to lift the car...

Weird... why the aversion to jacking the car up by a point described in the shop manual as a lift point?
You have to understand my frequency, I have 3 complete sets of tires and wheels for my S, I'm constantly running out to the garage to jack the car up to switch wheels/tires, not to mention the 10 to 12 brake jobs per year plus anything else that requires the car to be jacked like fluid changes or exhaust work.
When you jack from the side you are subjecting the car to twisting forces. When you jack from center front or center rear you have reduced those stresses dramatically. Not to mention jacking from a corner and then having to place a jack stand under the same corner is a bit of a problem, and if you are jacking the whole car off the ground, I can't think of a more unstable way to do it than 4 seperate jackings on 4 seperate corners.
I honestly don't believe everything in that Honda manual, especially the completly stupid idea of storing the car on jack stands when it needs to sit "for extended periods of time".
For what it's worth, I never lifted my whole car by a single lift point either... not really because I was overly concerned about my car breaking in half like a coat hanger, but because it's awkward placing the jack stands. My procedure was to use the jack in the trunk to lift the front high enough by the side point to get a real jack under the center jack point. I never had a problem getting a jack under the differential so no trunk jack needed there. Now my procedure is to place the rear pads on my lift on the rear side points and the front pads on the sub-frame rails. Then, up it goes!
