Recommendations for a floor jack
So now that I have an S2k with 2 sets of wheels, I need a floor jack so I can actually change them myself. Most of my car maintenance is done at my father's well equipped garage 80 miles away, but there's no way for me to fit 4 wheels in the S2k and drive 80 miles just to swap them.
So anyways, I live in a condo with no garage, so the jack would have to be kept in my basement, and I'd have to lug it upstairs and outside in order to use it. I can manage with a heavy one, but I'm curious about those lighter weight "racing inspired" jacks.
Anyone have recommendations for either? I'm looking for something reliable above all else. but weight and cost would be considered as well.
Thanks

I love my Craftsman 4000 lb. Capacity Aluminum Jack

You will need to bleed it once in a while.

Wow... when I lived in a condo, working on your car outside was forbidden. Washing your car out front was forbidden as well. These were two factors that weighed heavily in my mind when deciding whether I'd buy a house or condo recently.

I wouldn't recommend a condo to anyone.

I seriously doubt anyone would care if I changed wheels, as it won't make a mess or stain the pavement.
If anyone complains, I can always work on the street. It's residential, flat, wide, and I've changed wheels out there before.
I still plan on doing oil changes at my parents house, though, simply because I visit often enough, and it's heated and air conditioned.

Skip the floor jack and just use your local gas station.

Plus, as I said before, it's pretty difficult to load 4 wheels/tires into the S2k in order to drive somewhere for a swap.

hey jim,
