Default Saturn Sky

I saw it coming toward me and thought it looked pretty good for a Saturn. It was a silver color. i deff wouldn't trade my S for one thats for sure. Don't know if i'd want to drive around in a saturn. its going to be fun stomping on these cars in races. 177Hp and 162 lb/ft tq. we still win the HP/litre war. The sister Soltice just doesn't grab the attention the sky did in the looks department. A Pontiac dealership in Lowell still has the black soltice sitting on the lot. I'm sure GM will be making a Supercharged red Line soon thats supposed to have the same Hp as the S does.

I agree the Sky is much sharper than the Solstice. Both of them are decent efforts from the General (A rarity IMO) but my beef with them is they are piece parts cars. There is supposedly a supercharged version of both putting like 260hp to the ground, but i don't think they will be as nimble in the twisties.

I have only seen one Solstice, and for some reason the motor had that pitter patter diesel sound when he went wizzing by me. Certainly not enthusiastic by any means. Kinda sounded like one of those old VW bugs going by. Maybe there was just something wrong with his car?

what i like about the Sky also is that its aggressive looking. I like mean looking cars. the S deff does it and the Sky is pretty scary looking.

My friend called me this weekend on his way back from the Wrentham outlet mall to tell me he had just seen a Saturn Sky.

I saw it at the auto show back in November at Bayside Expo Center and was very impressed by the car's looks. However, I'm definitely not trading in the S for that 177 hp beast. Especially since the trunk is even smaller than the S's.

This is weird! I just saw my one this morning on my way into work... just south of Lowell on Route 3. But it was a red one. Pretty sharp looking. It definitely made me look twice :thump:

It is a great looking car. It is based on the Opel Speedster, that is why it looks so much like it Same car just rebadged for the US market.

Years ago, a Speedster whizzed by me while i was on vacation in Europe and i remember thinking "wow that thing is hot! Wish we had those in the states" well now we have a version of it. Now if we could only get the Alfa GTV spider, Renault Clio cabrio,Smart Roadster and some others over here

I love the Saturn Sky in pictures, I can't wait to see it in person. I'm all for new and interesting cars on the road, and to me this one qualifies easily. GM or not, I like it.

I thought the Opel Speedster was based on the Lotus Elise (near automotive perfection in my mind). Did I miss something here?

These Kappa cars were co-developed with Lotus if I recall. And as far as functionallity, the trunk space is a whopping 1 foot with the top down. They look sharp (especially the Saturn) but I am not too confident in their reflexes compared to the S. Although if you read some of the Solstice/Sky forums, these gys think the Solstice is on the same level as a Boxster and the trash talking about the S2000...

Sometimes the fanatisism gets to be ridiculous...
