lol, the drivers are as clue less as the GM execs and engineers. Seems like they're perfect for the car and each other.
Oh, regardless of the looks of the sky and solstice, they are just 2 more cars for us to whoop on.

Do the wheels on it look really super heavy or is it me?
Let's hope those steve c and rockville characters do not find this thread. You'll know what I mean if you frquent the car forum.
that guy has issues. I'd like to see him buy an american car to back up his talk about how we're "honda fanboy's". I apologize for liking better cars than the mediocracy that GM and Ford put out. Why settle for less when buy an american car when you can buy better with japanese or german.
I was thinking the same thing. That Steve C guy is harsh! I mean really, if you wanna have an opinion, great, but he takes things to the extreme! Say ANYTHING negative about a domestic product and thems' fightin' words! I'll just keep an open mind about things.
I usually don't stray too far from the N.E. section though, some of the members aren't as pleasant as us New England folks.

they are not. Some people in that section want to believe so bad that the warrant for all the bad talk about domestics isn't true, but it is. I wonder if that Steve C guy ever shows his face to a regional meet or get together with any other s2k guys?? lol
I won't make this a Import vs Domestic thing, but I am one of those people who tend to stay on the import side of things. Not to say that Domestics are atrocious, because I have had Fords and they were pretty decent cars.
In fact one of my favorite cars that I owned was a 93' Probe GT. I adored that car. I bought it used with 7000 miles on it from a L/M dealership in the spring of 94'. I was SO proud to have owned that car, it was something like #157 off the assembly line. Had it for 4 years and 100k miles and did nothing to it but B/T/OC... and wheel bearings. Auto tranny was goofy, but it never broke down. Great car, wish i still had it (alongside my S2k of course
)
Then I traded it for a 97 Explorer SPRT which was a lemon (too much to list) I traded it 10 months later for my first Honda, a 98 Accord lx 5spd. I've owned 7 Hondas since then and they are IMO some of the best on the market based on my experience. There is a reason why they score so high in CR and earned their reputation.
Did it spoil my opion of domestics? No. I'd buy a Ford truck if I were in the market, and I'd give their cars a chance as well. My only beef beef is the lack of manual gearboxes. I am not a fan of GM though, but I wouldn't go around calling them "junk" just for the hell of it. My father has had a couple of Grand prix's that have been good to him for 150k miles. But his share of issues with other GM's... oh boy.
And coming back around to the title of this thread, the Solstice and the Sky are some of the most promising vehicle to come out of GM in a long time. We'll see how they hold up over time I guess.

BTW, my MIL is in the market for a new vehicle to replace her 97' Grand Cherokee with 190,000 miles on it. I told her to buy another Jeep because they are excellent trucks. Oh sure, you'll read horror stories about them but heck, they were neck and neck with the Explorer for sales numbers in the 400,000/yr range. With that kind of number, it is likely to find an issue or 2.
I was disappointed what they have done to the new models though. The last generation was much more elegant looking IMO.

I have one, a Liberty, and I'm very happy with it. Rick drives a Grand Cherokee for a demo. It's nice looking, but I find it quite a bit larger than the previous Grand Cherokees. Not my favorite car to drive.I hope the Sky and Soltice do OK. Lots of folks are extremely negative on all Amercian cars it would be nice to see a success story.
My sis has a Ford Escort Wagon with 100K+ miles and would buy another one in a minute. She has had very few repairs except for the usual maintenance and wear items. The vehicle fits her needs and with the standard transmission is perfect to tow behind their large gas sucking RV.
