Default Soft Top Problems. HELP!

I got a bran new soft top. When I first got it installed they told me to leave it up for a week to give the top time to stretch, which I did. Anyway it never fit right and I had to pull the middle handle down to have the latches catch. A couple months later one of the latches breaks and so does the other one a week later. the part that you push in with your thumb is the part that broke.

They are Jerk-Offs

I took it to them and they wanna charge me $150 a latch, telling me it is 6 hours of installation, and telling me that tops not closing all the way are normal. WTF

I know I can get latches used for $25, install it myself in 5 minutes... but does anyone know what to do about getting the top to close all the way. Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't know, but I feel like it has something to do with the stretch factors. You might have to wear it in.

Some of the S2000 owners here who have had the s2000 since 0 miles might have some insight for you. Then again...Honda might have done something during installation to kind of "cure" the soft tops before they left the factory.

Your 100% correct that your getting jacked around. Tops properly installed fit snug but they latch easily. I suggest you get it corrected on there dime and time.

If they don't agree to fix it for free, I wouldn't pay that price for the latches. I just sold a set of them for $75 and they take <20 minutes to install.

Just based on their quote of six hours labor to replace latches, I would say they are definitely shady.
