Being
you never were exposed to it so therefore its understandable how you dont miss it.
I wasn't exposed to computers either and figured those out. I'd miss the computer if I didn't have it.
I don't care to text, takes too long, and the people I communicate most with, communicate by phone or email.

cmon it takes to long to text?
by the time you boot up a computer log onto your email account and type a message and hit send
you could exchange 20 text messages easy with someone.
Text is FAST thats the big attraction to it. Ill show you saturday how fast it really is.

Most of my communication is done via email from home or work, or by phone. Works for me.
I don't need the instant gratification from text messages being sent or received. I don't want to be that connected. Nothing irks me more than seeing people out to dinner and someone at the table is too busy talking on his/her cell or texting some other person to even converse with those he/she is out with.

The problem Mike, with the way you want to do text is it is not convenient. Yes it is free but really, if I had your # and wanted to text you right now I have no clue of what carrier your on. Same goes for Steve and Bill and Kenta and Dmitriy and I better say Ryan
too.
too.For me on the BlackBerry (8800 I've had over 2 yrs now) sending an email is just as easy as sending a TXT. It even looks the same, incoming and outgoing.
Really, the only people that should TXT are people who cannot get email on their cell phones, or people with carriers that include unlimited TXTing with their unlimited data plan.
Really, the only reason all the major carriers doubled their TXT rates is because everyone finds it convenient enough to just deal with it.
The simple fact is, a text message costs the company nothing. Absolutely nothing. It doesn't even take up the voice or data stream bandwidth because they ride in the carrier signal, and by design are meant to be cheap.
Paying for a text message is like the land-line phone company charging you for the dial tone when you pick up the phone.
