Default Valve Adjustment help pls....

I tried to this on my own and what I THOUGHT was all correct but it just doesn't seem right. After adjusting a 2nd time to even tighter specs there is still a metallic clicking that's going on that's just NOT sounding right.

I am 99.9% sure it's just the valves. Not sure what else it could be! I didn't leave anything in there nor did anything drop into the system.(all tools accounted for)

Talked with a reliable tech but he is geographically out of reach for me to get to. He thinks it's just my valve adjustment which is very possible.

Is there anyone that has done a few valve adjustments that can help me with mine and maybe help diagnose if it's not?

As the car has to be COLD when adjusting thus driving somewhere to have it done just is a little counter productive. I have all the tools etc. to take apart and adjust everything. It will be wide open when you come.

I live in Milford CT near the Sikorsky Bridge.

WILL PROVIDE COOL YUENGLING for your time! Maybe something else if you wish.
Thanks in advance.

well scott, let's analyze the situation.

Cons:
1. I'm not exactly in the neighborhood.
2. I have been wicked busy.
3. I've never so much as cracked the valve cover open on mine.

Pros:
1. I do occasionally drink beer.
2. I have adjusted valves

Cons again:
but it was on a renault le car. with a pushrod 4

sorry Pinky, I'm useless.

if this was 2002 i'd have more hair and a German chick as my +1 -

heck in 2002 Jim installed a head unit in my car at a meet and then dan installed air horns and a CAI and scott would have helped me put my car back together / fix the windows after an all day install done by a bunch of hacks

ahhh the good old days

I would offer to help Jim, but with everything going on right now, I just don't have the time.

Ahh the good ole days!!!

Well I am about 80% done. I found a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwjbGPYGlyo Has an amazingly simplistic way(almost fool proof) to getting the correct gap!

I will let you guys know how it does after I finish it up tomorrow but I am very hopeful that this technique will work. It does seem to work very well so far.

That is a helpful video. I've never done it myself, but my car's near 100k miles and should be done again. Previous owner had the dealer do it.
