"The International is a private club but sponsorship by one of our members is not required."

They are towards the high end of the market. They to have a menu online.

Wedding planning can get crazy.

My suggestion, take a nice romatic vacation, ELOPE, then have a party when it suits you.
Im starting to think that way!!

Take JT's suggestion of the Caribbean vacation/wedding. A co-worker's daughter did that. The wedding "party" included the bridge and groom, the parents, and maybe a sibling or two. Hardly any fuss, and a good time was had by all.

What general area are you looking in? Are you planning a weekend event? How many people do you need lodging for?

In the winter months many places will be ok with 75 guests. We got married at The Lord Thompson Manor (www.lordthompsonmanor.com) in December and we had less than 100 guests. We booked the place for the entire weekend, it was very relaxing. We had out of town relatives stay there as well, there are at least size guest rooms. They also own the white horse tavern down the street that also has a spa and a great jazz brunch. The food at both these places is just excellent!

I can check with my wife and give you more suggestions if you can give me a better idea of location. There is a nice place in the Berkshires that I've been to but I can't remember the name....

^ December is not a popular month Im told so that is easier....I wanted Sept/Oct which of course is the prime time....go figure.

Im doing everything myself...so I was trying to find something semi local so I could go and discuss things, set up, etc.....we are in Charlton, near the border of Sturbridge.

Did you check the Wayside, April?

Wishing you best of luck!

Ooh, I had another thought. There's a really nice restaurant on the way toward Mt Wachusett. Karen and I attended a wedding there... Harrington Farm. It's way back in the woods on the Princeton side of the mountain. The function hall is great.
