ap1 to ap2

Default ap1 to ap2

does anybody know how to do a swap? i found one on eBay for a decent price and i was wondering is there any other moding to get it to fit??

You are better off just keeping the AP1.
Better snychros.

You need to change the flange to the drive shaft to use the AP2 tranny with the AP1 drive shaft. Same thing with the AP2 Rear diff, change the flange.

oh got it well instead i decided to go with a aem computer and i dont know how to self tune is it pretty simple or what?

If you got an AEM, I agree with the above post.

Have a competent tuner tune it. These stand alones are not to be messed with by someone who has never tuned before.

Raven, just out of curiosity, why would you say the AP1 has better synchros?? The carbon synchros in the AP2 box are vastly superior to the brass ones in the AP1 boxes that constantly burn out...

Just seen carbon synchros have "more" problems.

then again it can be drive error. I do like the gear ratio better with the AP1 with my 2.2.

Some of the things I have read have led to that, but it is all a preference.

Usually $500 +.

That usually does not cover the install if there is anything extra that has got to be done.
