1st Track Day with M3
Hey guys, just thought I would share my experience with the M3 at the track last week.
Met Jason "wrecked" there as well which was a pleasant surprise.
It was a 2 day event at Thunderbolt w/o chicane with PCA
Heres a 8 min video of my last session on day 2 which I set my personal best at 1:36.2 (Harry's Laptimer)
Which from what I am told pretty good for my first time there with little track experience.

I definitely feel the weight difference coming from the S2000 but the ultimate grip is really on par.
The M is much more forgiving or balanced with oversteer compare to the snappiness of s2k. Makes me want to really try learning how to hold a drift altho tires will be very expensive lol.
On the main straight I got it up to 145mph on the speedo before hard braking into corner 1. Jason was jealous of the power cause NA s2k can only manage about 125mph lol. Supercharger!
Engine note is amazing I got compliments all day from P-car guys.
Love how its more track ready unlike the S2000 (cracked rotors, oil baffling, etc) and definitly better to and from the track
I will be at NJMP again with Evo guys for a event called Cold Tire Domination, Nov. 23-24 if anybody wants to join in as a last trackday of the year. Info over at http://forums.evolutionm.net/motor-s...r-23-24-a.html

dope dope ...it was a toss up between an m3 sedan or a daily/s2k for me...seeing this video/thread makes me second guess my decision but it's nice to know that if something breaks on the s2k on the track and I don't have the cash to fix it right away I got the daily still while it goes under the knife

Kind of seems like the main point of your post is to list all the ways the S isn't as good as the M3, Dave.
Anyway the M3 is a great car and I'm glad you got it out on the track and had a good time. I wish more people would experience their cars on the track because not only is it an incredible thrill you're driving in ways and learning skills you could not possibly do on any street.

S2000 is a more specialized car and the M3 cant beat the feel and X Factor of the S2000 that comes with the lightness. I tell my friends all the time that I regret selling my S2000 but after a track day with the M3 I still regret but just a little less
Cool I'll see you there I was going to register for the Nov PCA event also but was way to late and didnt bother after seeing how full it was.
