I took my car to the hand car wash the other day 
10 Minutes and $23 with tip
That night it rained and a bird shit on it the next day. No more washing until next summer now.

Paint protection is the key. 
Most bird droppings will come off with a rag and water if there's enough wax on the paint. Rain for me is a free rinse, soon as it stops wipe the car down and Bam! Shines again. But then again, it's all about priorities
