With snow/ rain etc... Do snow tires really work that well?

I used to live in Queens and daily drove it with snow tires. Yes they do work. Since the S is so low it's not easy getting in and out of spots or up and down driveways. Needless to say I kept a small shovel in the car and stayed home many deep snow days. The worst is getting around when plows would pile the snow and make some nice hard pact barriers to give your back a good shoveling work out.

I am on summer tires for the second year

I dont recommend it, but i do it, drive slow and i dont do stupid stuff'
When it snows i keep it in the garage and take it out when the roads are clear

I never missed a day of work cos' of snow and never left early either.
Some guys swear on their Blizzaks, Dunlop Wintersports for me

I might have missed a coupla days when it was really , really deep. But as long as the snow plow went through first I was able to get back and forth to work.

I use my s2 all year around with blizzaks on in the winter. No problems at all. The tires work wonders in the snow.

I have used blizzacks and some generic brand snow tires. Other than performing better dry conditions and maybe smoother ride, any winter tire will do. You might get some extra miles too but for the price I was happy with the no name.

there's a reason other countries make winter tires mandatory in the winter.

of course, in the usa, the masses are left to be as ignorant as possible.
diesels aren't efficient...
vans/wagons are only for soccer moms...
why do suvs consume so much gas compared to regular cars...
we never landed on the moon...
jesus had blue eyes, blonde hair, and was a white...
i need a 20 bedroom house even though i'm single with no kids...
but most of all, driving is a right, not a priviledge???
WTF???

...end of sarcasm.

in all seriousness, the s is no different than driving any other rear wheel drive car in the snow. bmw, mercedes, mustangs, camaros, etc. people drive those everyday, through all sorts of weather. the major hindrance, again, is not knowing any better.
