Very true. I'll take some pictures. I'll try tonight if not tomorrow.

Do the rear shocks have a right and a left or do they work for either side? They seemed to bolt up just fine either way but just want to make sure in case they could be on wrong side or something.

Ooops what I meant to say was which way each side face. Tired lol. Like they can bolt on with the sticker on each shock facing in or out so just wondering if it matters which way they go or not.

Just pulled the wheel off and got a few pictures. Everything seemed pretty tight. The one bolt holding it to the control arm was tight but could still tighten it a little bit more so possibly that was loose enough to do something but I highly doubt it.
I snapped a couple of quick pictures.

That huge gland nut at the top is under stress from the spring - it is definitely on there tight enough for purposes of diagnosing the noise.

I suggest you swap in the factory shock/spring and see what happens.

Did you add sound deadening material?

I don't have the factory shock/spring. I am sure it is nothing something else in the car besides the shock/spring that is there now. Nothing else was changed when installing it and nothing else unbolted except for the control arm which is tight and the shock.
Yeah I have sound deadening stuff all in that back area since I removed the rear tray. It's just Peal and Seal from Home depot. Works great and super cheap.

bringing this back from the dead but I'm having the same issue, on my one rear koni strut te top hat bolt won't tighten or come off but it's secured where it needs to be. I preloaded it and torqued everything to spec, but in hard bumps or driveways it creaks/clunks. I did remove the trut bar and replaced it after install if that makes a difference. I have the koni/espelir combo on the lower perch. LOW.

For some reason, this seems to be common with Konis, especifically the rears.

I have Konis as well ( Tein S-Techs / up perch) but have never experienced the clunk, I have nothing to offer.

I do remember the nut that's welded onto the bottom of the shock stripping out though. Assuming that yours is tight?
