Good Winter Tire for AP2 style rims?
Hey guys, thank god i get another teaching job outside of manhattan, the commute was killing me and I get to keep the S2000 instead of giving it up. Little nervous for the winter cause I don't have a beater. I haven't been able to find any winter tires that fit the 2004 style rims for our car. I know they make blizzacks and others for earlier cars , but is there anything available for 2004+?
thanks

Better choice is to get a set of 16"s with either Blizzak WS-50 or LM-22.
WS-50 is much better in the snow. LM-22 is much better in everything else.
I got a set of 16" ASA with LM-22s with about 5k on them which I picked up for $500 that I use on my S in the winter, makes it at least usable. In fact it is even fun provided there are no other cars on the road and you can drift all the way home

I have a set of 16" rims that are nothing great to look at but
would be perfect for snow tires. I'd let them go at a good price
if you wanna come and pick them up. PM me if your interested

Tire Rack has Blizzak LM-25 and Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2 in sizes to fit the AP2 wheel.
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/CompareTireR...e=W&RunFlat=All
The also have the Michelin X-Ice but the sizes would be slightly off:

You could go 215/50 front and 235/45 rear in 17"

I have the dunlop winter sport M3's on ap2 rims and I didn't have a problem last year at all. I think the fronts are 225/ 50 up front and 255/ 45 in the rear I need to check since there at my parents house though.

"WS-50 is much better in the snow. LM-22 is much better in everything else."
When it is dry, you will wish you had LM-22s. When it is snowing you will wish you had WS-50s.
Simple as that.

Tire Rack web site lists a 225/50-16 LM-22 as low stock, was your guy looking for a 245/50-16? (Which is the recommended size when not using SO2)
