new edition to my modification.

I tried to paint it over on black lettering with touch up paint. which did not work out...
So I ended up scraping the black lettering with a niddle. that brought a lot of time consuming and pain. the problem with touch up paint is, when I tried to use acetone, it'd peeled off instead of dissolving so I bought a nail polish which ressembles the touch up paint as much as possible. Oh, another thing i realize was if I try to remove excesive paint(!) with finger, it'll also remove paint inside lettering. So I tried wrapping a paper towel around lighter which melted plastic lighter. I ended up wrapping it around nail clipper. now my table looks like a nail salon

end result in my S

cheers,

Looks good man! Thanks for the pics. Mine's red also and I've been seriously considering this mod. Now I know how it will look.

BTW, the color is not a exact match. and if you see it closely, I mean very closely, you'd see blemishes... so if you could, I'd recommend to use professional shop before you messing it up. I know because after my first coat, it looked horrible and I said to myslef, "what the **** have I done!!!" what made me continue to do this was price I had to pay for. Since I messed it up, shop would've charged me extra cost to remove paint by hand

good luck!

Dude, good job!

But the easy solution would have been buying a RSX-type S
Shift Knob on Ebay - $10 stolen - $40 factory sealed!

Bammmmmmmmm!

I used the spa thouch up paint to paint my shifter its been on it for 6 months now and holding up fine. It makes the yellow stitching on the concole cover and shift boot look better. i will see if i can get a pic of it later.
