middleton, new jersey
just a question regarding this suburb in new jersey.
supposedly Jon Bon Jovi, the Boss Bruce Springsteen and a couple of "Tony Soprano" types live in this rather exclusive area.
what's the average house price and land size of this area and is it really exclusive to get into?

I believe your are referring to the town of 'Rumson' which is really upscale.
They only thing that makes it exclusive is the $$$ to buy into the area. The town itself is not gated but many of the houses are.
House are situated on lots from under an acre to multi-acre estates. I do not know costs specifically because it is way out of my budget but I would imagine houses start at US$750,000 and go into the multi-millions. There maybe less expensive houses, I'm really not sure.
BTW, if you looking for exclusive, the town of Alpine in northern NJ has one of the highest per capita incomes in the U.S. It is less than 10 miles to NYC. Again, I would imagine houses start at US$750,000.

Hey ...ok my uncle and aunt lived in middletown for years. It is a nice area.....There are some really big type estate houses in the area but there is also smaller rambling ranches and the typical two story center hall colonial. It is a nice town with other nice towns around it. Nothing to special....if you went there you'd be like its ok.
I think it might be popular with jersey people because it is equal distance from the city and the beach.
Yes Alpine is big bucks and being so close to NYC makes for some killer views.
But there are several rich areas ....all over the northern part of jersey.
Within 60 to 70 miles of NYC (Jersey, conn., Long island)there are probably over one hundred towns that have a median house cost of over $800,000.00 dollars.
