Default Received Phone Call From Honda City

Ok, a little background--
I bought my S 9 yrs ago from a Honda Dealership in NJ
Took it to local dealership 2x for service in 2006. (NEVER AGAIN!)

This week I received a phone call from a salesman @ dealership I had it serviced at. (caller id confirmed it was from dealership)
He says, "I have a customer looking to buy an S2000. Are you looking to sell?"

Once I stopped laughing hysterically I told him "I'm not interested. I've had it for almost 10 yrs & I'll be buried in it, son!"
He was taken aback. Once he recovered he asked if I was having it serviced regularly. (typical dealer spiel) "Um, yeah. I've got that taken care of."

Seriously, are dealerships so hard up they would go to records that are 8 yrs old?

Pretty much

They did the same thing to me a few months ago. I said ill sell it for 30K, that's more than I paid for mine. He said, that's high, then its not for sale. He said I can get you in the new Honda Accord, I said, no thanks.

What's up Mary? Still hanging around here?
They solicit my car by mail. They will never get it. The letter says "We can put you in a new Honda for less than you're paying now".
Nah! That's OK

Hey, Al!
Yeah-- I'm still around.
I learn a lot reading the boards.
Maybe I'll come out to a meet in the Spring.

They'll do anything to reach out to a potential customer.

We have an '06 MDX w/ 92K miles and a "00 S2000 w/ 65K miles, both have only ever been to the dealership for recalls or TSBs. Never for service.

We still get mailers all the time "Looking to purchase your MDX". BS!!

I'll hand it to the salesman for being "proactive".

Instead of waiting for the next person to walk through the door he's trying something a little more "creative".

Can't blame him for that. Gotta make a living !

you can find great deals on the 2014s Bill, they need to clear them out to make room for the 2015s
