Default snow tires

I just picked up my new S2K and I'm thrilled! I know it's a little bit early to be thinking about snow tires and winter driving, but can any of you experienced S2Kers advise me about:

1) the wisdom of installing a different set of tires for the winter
2) the advisability of putting some weight (like 50lb bags of salt) into the trunk.

You need different tires. No question there. I don't know about the weight, but I don't think it could hurt. Contact Jim@tirerack.com about the tires.

I drive my car everyday.... And made it through this winter with out a problem
most of the guys here will tell you to buy a winter beater but there just wimps By a set of snow tires from Jim @ tire rack and buy yourself
some weight for the back.... I just put a couple off bags of concrete in the
back..... But if you do both of those things you'll be fine..... There are plenty
of guys who drive in the snow besides me..... Really the car isn't bad with the snows on...... Just take it down a notch like you would in the rain and you'll
be fine...... Hope this helps

Mike.

Bridgestone LM22's on all four corners- unbeleiveable in snow and rain and not too shabby for performance driving either.
