Default WT borrow trailer

I have to drive my S2000 to NC to be inspected because my car is registered down there. I would prefer to not drive it. I have a GMC truck that I usually use U-haul flat open trailers to hold the entire car (no wheels on the road). It seems that no U-hauls carry the trailer and the 1 place that does only does a 1 way.

I used to pay like $100 for the trailer and trailer my cars to NC and back.....

Is there anyone somewhat local that would be kind enough to let me borrow a trailer. The dates would be July 9th later in afternoon/night leaving. Returning Saturday July 17th.

I will only use it to get there and back, 1400 miles total. Will leave it parked with my truck. I am willing to leave a deposit of money, for security for you, that will be given back upon bringing back your trailer.

Thanks
JP

You can reserve a trailer at :

www.uhaul.com

I would suggest you try to reserve it at one of the larger uhaul locations (around me it would be zip code: 11550 or 11590 -- if there is a large u-haul location near you use the zip code for that location).

The U-Haul in Westbury on Jericho Tpke has a car trailer like what you have described - I don't know if they have restrictions about one-way/local tho. You are going to have better luck with a U-Haul corporate location rather than a service station that just has a couple of pieces. There is another U-Haul corporate location in Farmingdale on Rt.110
The number at the Westbury U-Haul is 516-333-6334.

dude i don't have one but you are going to be royally screwed if you plan on renting one for 8 days. It' cost me $100 a day to rent from Uhaul a couple of months ago.

Just drive it - go visit the Dragon while you are down there!

u know what really sucks, u-haul 1 day $50 .... u-haul 1 way $500 .....very annoying. I called local U-haul's and they stopped carrying this type of trailer. I will try the larger ones by you guys and see if anything works out. Maybe they will work a deal out for me since I am bringing it back...8 days later...lol...

Thanks guys, and if anyone has one that they would lend out that would be awesome!

they don't give multi date discounts because they can rent them out at that price everyday.

I do not necessarily mean multi day discount, but I mean $50 for 1 day right, and $500 for 1 way and $500 for way back = $1000 ....I am gonna see tomorrow if they will let me do it for 1 day, just 8 days consecutively =$400 .... now I do not know if I am that important to them but a guaranteed 8 days and $400 over them losing me as a customer entirely this trip....I am hoping they will take the $400

It's not really $50, it's more like $50, plus tax, plus surcharge, plus insurance. Believe me you want the insurance.

I saw that the Budget rental place on Route 17 South in Paramus NJ had several trailers of the type you described. Dual axle with ramps to drive the car on to the trailer. I'm not sure what their terms are but it is worth a shot.

833 RT 17 SOUTH
City: PARAMUS
State: NJ
ZIP Code: 07652
