I did consult a lawyer but he said there was no sort of case for being inconvenienced like this.

I'm lucky that it wasn't totalled. I didn't know that if it was they didn't have to buy me a new car, just give me a check for what they think the car is worth. The system's screwed up. Insurance companies and banks are some of the biggest crooks in America and for some reason the laws favor them over common sense.

i disagree. if something like this ever happens to my car, i hope they total it out. most cars after major repairs are never the same. pluss it will show up on a car fax, if you go to sell or trade in - you will get a bit less $ becasue of this situation.
