Stopped by Mike's on Sunday

Mike - thanks for taking the time to show me around. I'm sold on the idea of getting one.

Jeff,
I have the padding and the nice vinyl cover. I'm saving those finishing touches until all the sparks stop flying in the garage.

Aashish,
Glad I could help, great to see you.

Mike,
For now I'm just going to unplug the factory airbag. I'm out of money this year.

FYI what what the wheel and airbag sell for ($300-350) you can fund a hub, quick disconnect, and wheel

Just an update, I am still working on this. Since last update I've:

Spray foamed the wheel well cuts
Removed the driver seat belt system & installed resisters to keep the SRS brain satisfied
Re-installed the passenger side seat belt
Installed eyebolts for the harnesses
Test fit the seat with eyebolts for clearance
Installed CR brackets to mount HT rear catchers to since I removed the softtop
Reinforced the welds on Buddy Club seat rails
Bent seat rail silder lever to fit under a super low seat

Hoping to get another nice chunk of work done this weekend. I want to trim a few panels and re-install them along the door sills. Once the interior panels are reinstalled I can install harnesses and seat. I also need to remove the rear latches from the hardtop and bend the handles to clear the roll bar.

Nice to see safety taking priority. Looks like you are doing a good job. I wish I had never put my interior back in now that it has been a few years. I probably will try to pull it out along with the soft top this summer.
Hope you have a productive weekend!

Mike - Thanks for the update. Once your car is back on the ground, and if it is convenient for you, I would like to stop by to just sit in the car and get a feel for the bucket and harness setup. Let me know if thats ok with you.

Thanks, with the current use of the car (HPDE only) I don't see myself regretting any of the decisions. I've been given the OK to use up Saturday AM in the garage. I'll use it wisely!

Of course, maybe I'll come to you since I want to drive anyways!

Nice find! I was fortunate to get my helmet with the posts already installed. I don't feel safe without it now.
