Kids were not up on the rack. Thanks for the advice on slowing down. When the conditions warrent it I'm the 1st one to do it. Most of the snow tired SUV's were going 75. Where do you ski and what do you drive in the snow. My best snow car used to be a Buick Roadmaster wagon what is yours?

To Skimad,
Say Hi to Terry Barbour the ski school director at Madriver for me. You should see him drive when there is fresh powder to get to! He has been on several white knuckle drives with me to ski races over the years and survived just fine. Just thought the story of this trip needed to be told and was made possible by being very prepared with great snow tires, a super new well balanced 4x4, and having thousands of winter driving miles of experience. Of course I should have stayed home and let the kids miss the race. Thats what the "wind chill talking SOB weather men" want so they can get more ratings. What kind of skier are you? Remember one has no friends on powder days!

Yeah you got me at "powder days"
I'm driving a Volvo and Ram 1500 4X4 each set up with studded snows all around and have two snowmobiles as stand by. I think that all of us skiers have stories of white knuckle drives to tell ... the miles for the white and fluffy, oh the miles.
I alpine and free heel at mostly MRG and Sugarbush but also head to where ever the snow is if needed, or the comps
Hope to catch you on or off the slopes.

Skimad,
You got me on the being prepared part. I don't have studded snow tires or 2 snowmobiles as back up transportation. Have seen Volvos blow by me on several access roads they must handle well in the loose stuff. Pray for snow.

Yeah, the Volvo's good but ... I've saw one balanced on a guardrail on one trip. There is a point where any car or truck will let loose then ouch The studs are insurance and only really work with any ice or black ice you run into. They were a plus with the freezing rain we had earlier this month I never would have made it up my road or driveway without them.
Pass few days were Bluebird Skies and more to come, MRG was great on Friday but got polished this weekend. Will be hitting Sugarbush all week till we get some more of the white stuff.
PRAY, PRAY, PRAY
Lou
