Default Q for people storing their cars ......

I am going to be on vacation for a month (Jan 20-Feb 20) and was wondering what
to do to the S before I leave ... I mean other than the usual wash, wax, clean interior,
cover etc.

Thanks!

It's only a month - I wouldn't worry about it...

I agree with Jeff. If the temp. permits, wash it, or at least hose it down and get rid of the salt. Otherwise, don't worry about it. I hope you're going someplace warm.

Storing for one month? I don't think I would do anything more than wash it and make sure it is dry and leave the soft-top un-latched. Have a good trip Abhi, enjoy the warmth! Let's get together when you come back, you know, MacGregors in Canandaigua.

If you have an alarm installed or an aftermarket radio, maybe disconnect the battery. Depending on the shape of your battery, it may be dead when you get back.

Dude:

Why leave the soft top unlatched? Would leaving it latched under a car cover create problems?

Yes, definitely a few more drink meets after I return.

You park your car outside? Well if the answer is yes, DO NOT leave the top unlatched... My car stores inside, and I don't latch the top so as to not put any extra strain on the top.

Cool, we will set something up once you get back, with a bit of luck Eric and Skip can join us this time.

Doug:

Cool. So, is there any merit in keeping the top down and cover on? I keep in in the garage, of course.

Don't know if it is good or bad to have the top up, but mine is down all winter, of course I have the hardtop on.
