Explicate on the yellow dune buggy (I'm glad you could keep in front) and the crumpled #91 pleeze.
Jeff that "dune buggy" is one of those modified Nascar cars. Usually they are in a
Wheelen series I think. Generally set up with giant stagger to turn one way but this one was set up for both directions. Lots of neat suspension on the car. Still it seemed really fast going straight, and hesitant in the corners. Nice big V* sound though!
Exactly...pictures to follow..

Thats Nascar car looks like something out of Mad Max, stuff of childhood dreams. Flame throwers an option on that?

So how do you know when it's time for a new clutch?
At Watkins Glen - every lap the clutch consistently slipped when shifting to 4th leaving the toe of the boot - at the top of the hill next to the flag station (I bet the station worker was amused). I haven't felt it slip anywhere else on the track of the street - but it's in the back of my mind that it might be time.

Of course you say - I should have just shifted easier in that spot, but I didn't. Focus was always on the track, the traffic, and the upcoming right hander, so lap after lap I blew that shift. Guess I need more practice

So how do you know when the time has come for a new one?

^ maybe you just need to flush the clutch. Gravity bleed works for the clutch as well.

I think you would notice more slippage in lower 1/2,2/3, shifts than 3/4 shifts if the clutch was going toast. More torque (ha ha Honda torque?) in those lower gears to cause the slipping. Try clutch bleed as Aashish suggests. I do mine every time I do the brakes, there always seems to be enough left to do it too. Also the clutch fluid seems to always have some nasty residue build up between flushes so I take the time to do it.

Paul - im also thinking that the culprit in this case may be the clutch delay valve on the AP2's. I've found it to interfere on occasion. Especially at Thompson up shifting to 3rd coming out of Turn 4.

Skippy School to start offering track days for $400 - let you drive your own car

http://skipbarber.com/skip-barber-track-days/

This is big news. Wonder how it impacts or will impact all clubs and private operators.

2.5 hours of track time is in line with what most groups offer too.

I need to double check the brakes before limerock - since I had figured my season was over
I`ll take care of this at the same time.

That's really tempting! I didn't see anything about the schedule though. Do you know dates?

They seem to be running it only during their winter race events for now. Probably want to gauge interest before starting to offer it nation wide. May only be offered at Sebring, Road Atlanta, NOLA Motorsports Park and Laguna Seca for now.
