Going out now to crawl around under the Volvo. Making a big push to prep the passenger side underside for paint. Filthy job laying on my back with an angle grinder 6 inches from my face.

I looked like a coal miner yesterday. Can't remember when I was so dirty.

Now going back out to lay under the Volvo. A little body pounding to straighten things out, then brush on primer.

Also hope to paint the MGA driveshaft that I need to use with the new close ratio transmission.

El Jefe - I like how you keep busy. Share pictures of the progress if you can. I realize it may be hard to get pics of what you’re doing.

Spent most of the weekend on the '57 Volvo. Prepping the underside floor, then painting with POR-15. Hammer & dolly work on the flange damaged from improper jacking. Not perfect, but much improved. Two coats of POR-15, one coat of Eastwood Chassis black. Will probably finish with one more coat of the Eastwood. With this very unpleasant task out of the way, I can start to attack all the left over loose ends and get the car on the road. Seat belts are my next target.

I did find some time to putter with the MGA. I pulled the U-Joints from the double flanged driveshaft that I will need for the close ratio transmission. Then prepped and painted it. Pulled the thermostat blanking plate and installed a 1/2" hole fender washer. Swapped out the Union Jack motif valve cover for something a little less flashy.

Also managed to do some yard work.

You sure are busy Jeff, my major job was giving the wife's Impreza a much needed bath....took advantage of temps. in the mid 50's.....now it is supposed to rain/snow the rest of the week. Hopefully the rain will wash the crud off the roads.

Jeff - what’s the plan for the bus? Will it be Dr. B’s summer transport?

They laid some salt down here on Friday which was frustrating. We got a coating on the ground

I'm dating Nancy and she takes me to meet her best friend's parents. The father is nice and chatty, and I mention that I drive an Austin Healey 3000. Without missing a beat, the father turns to Nancy and says: "I'm surprised that a smart girl like you would be dating someone soooo stupid as to be driving a British sports car!"

I've been on my heels ever since.
