Hey Marc- did they plug your S tire, or pull the tire and do a patch, and do you remember exactly why the 1st place was thinking it could not even be repaired?
I believe the tire on the S got patched. I only saw a sealant over the hole where the nail was, not the usual plug that I've seen done on other tires I've had slow leaks on. There was no hit of vibration or shimmy in the steering after I got the car back.

The car didn't pass inspection because of the issue with the tire. The tech had already gone for the day when I picked up the car, so I never got a chance to see what he was referring to. The service adviser mentioned that the tire was bulging and bubbling, which is why it failed. When I picked up the car, I saw no evidence of that...but I was only looking at the outside of the tire, and on the tread near where the nail was in the tire.

When the tire blew, it separated where the tread meets the sidewall...on the inside of the tire. I'm wagering that was what the tech had been referring to, and I never noticed it because I was so fixated on the puncture area, and never thought the issue would be on the inside of the tire.

Rain has finally stopped here, but still plenty of clouds and puddles around.

I would be worrying too, believe me
Mine are a nice quiet black
I just love how they slip on and off when I run in and out of the house
Actually, I have 2-pair, a nice black set, and a real crappy olive set, the olive ones are totally for yard work, and basement stuff to keep out of the sawdust from the saws

Well next time you are washing the car, treat them with something like Armorall, you will be surprised how bright and shinny they get
