Sweet bike. Shimano? SRAM?

Andre
Oh, didn't even see this post. Shimano Tiagra.
Upgrade the component. I didn't realize just how crappy Tiagra was till I upgraded mine two years ago to a mix ultegra and 105s. Actually, just get a new bike with the new components.

I'm not a serious enough rider to really care about upgrades. It works, I'm comfortable and I get a good workout so it'll do lol.

That's how I was until I got hooked... lol. The only reason I haven't gotten a new bike yet is because they are just too $$$$ and at our level, the benefits of a new bike with better components will more than likely go unnoticed. Fitness is the best upgrade any rider can do.

It would look much better mounted on the Carrera that's parked in the garage back there...

Looks good man... just let me know when you want to head over so we can get spanked by older men and newbies

Thoughts on a nice intro road bike? I am a bit of a fat knobby tire guy with my Specialized Epic so I need some help. There is a velodrome near my place down here and since there aren't any damn mountains .. well ya know..

Help a brother out!

If you're just starting, there really isn't a special intro bike that someone can recommend to you. All manufacturers have entry level bikes. The best thing to do is go to a bike shop and test ride a bunch of bikes and see which one you feel most comfortable in.

Oh... and always look into the used inventory section of a bike shop so you can save some $$. After you ride for a while, you'll fine tune your likes and dislikes of your ideal bike and with that information, buy a new bike to fit your needs.

Craigslist in FL is out right frightening lol

I am passed the noob way of picking up a bike. I guess I was pretty vague in asking for help and what I want is what you guys prefer and has made you buy what you ride. For example when it came to getting my Epic, I felt the brain technology on the rear shock that locks it out and keeps a hard tail feel made the price a non factor.

I will still check CL but need a virtual jimmy hat hazmat suit and nanny police officer to surf shot gun in the south fl section lol
