mets suck as predicted. i thought their pitching would be a little better though. besides harvey, wright, buck, parnell and hefner (he's been decent despite his record), the mets are terrible. terrible outfield and terrible bullpen and now their starting pitching is falling apart. i though neise would be better then he's been his last few outings. when you have to sign rick ankiel, you know you have a problem. their farm system is packed with pitchers, but not many position players. they're losing about $50 million in salary this yr, so hopefully they sign some good young free agents and field a decent team next yr. that $50 million is being thrown away. johan - $25 mil, bay - $15 and frank francisco makes about $8 mil. what a waste of money. none of them have/will play for the mets this yr. frankie is constantly getting hurt during rehab.

I really don't get how baseball players get injured. They spend most of the game sitting in the dug out or standing around. With the exception of pitchers of course.

Go Mets!

It's the quick movements batting, or quick sprints, diving outfield etc. Not a contact sport but it is easy to pull or tear something.

a lot of baseball players are out of shape, especially the fat pitchers and first basemen. They really only have to run for short periods of time, whether its to field a ball or run to a base. some players run into things, like walls.
