I was a Navy Seabee Construction Mechanic 2nd class. Promoted to E5 in about 3 years or so. I been to Greece, Kuwait, Iraq, Guam, Sri Lanka, Cuba, and was stationed in Gulfport Mississippi. Active duty from December 2000 till December 2005. I have had many wild experiences all around the world but what I miss the most are the people.

Active AF since 2002.
SrA ... hoping to make SSgt this yr since I've actually studied this yr.
Ground Radar Tech ... currently at 85th EIS (Combat EI Team Member)
Looking to cross train this Oct/Nov time frame or maybe finish my degree and go officer route ... not sure which would be better for me at the moment.

Definitely the best thing I've done ... got me out of a bad situation and it's kept me alive thus far.

Wow, look at that dinner plate! Did you go through a program like 'seaman to admiral' or 'stay 21'?

I got stuck in Diego Garcia for a week waiting for a replacement C-141 engine. I got my sailing card and enjoyed the lagoon's wet-flour like sand. That was before Gulf War I so it was still a sleeply little island.

Seaman To Admiral IS the "STA-21" program.

It's the Navy's commissioning program for the 21'st century.

I got my BA degree on my own so was commissioned through the Officer Candidate School "OCS" program. Basically, if you have your College degree, you can put a package it to become an Officer.

The other programs primarily allow you to go to college as your primary duty until you are commissioned where OCS you do it on your own time like after work, online or night time courses.
