I must be one of the lucky AT&T broadband customers... no service interuption at all. I guess when they purchased MediaOne, they never bothered to transfer the network over to @Home. Dodged the bullet this time

I bailed on Cox@Home when they started blocking ports 25 and 80 inbound here in SD.

PacBell's DSL is a little bit slower but gets the job done...

@home in Mich (thru Comcast) was down for 12 hours yesterday. Server problem was the stated reason. Whole state was down. Only one server per state? I don't think so. Anyway today (Sunday) everything seems fine. (melody in background playing . . . "it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood") Internet access and mail servers up. Now for S2K content; it's December in Detroit, sun is shinning temps near 50. Ain't supposed to be this way, but I'll take it! Stookins runs faster in the cool weather (especially without any snow, yea )

I would gladly give up ALL internet access for 7 to 10 days if I could get ANY broadband service at my home. I live in Warrenton, VA and we don't have any broadband options (except Satellite, but it's slow, too!) I check every other week hoping someone will save this wretched soul from analog hell. Even my 56K dialup won't stay connected for more than a couple hours. Forget trying to download anything larger than a Meg. I'll never see it (unless I use Go!Zilla.) Best estimates are another year for cable, nothing for DSL.

I'm in the same area as Charlie....e-mail and cable modem are up and running...may be a little slow. Comcast at Home has not been great...periodic outages in the past for a day, a week, or longer. But it's great when it's at 100%.

Been there... done that. It took them 2.5 years after they first told me "If they don't have it in by this Christmas, some heads are gonna roll" until they actually delivered.

@Home is a perfect example of how to screw up something beautiful by means of greed, stupidity and a complete lack of focus on your core business. The CEO and executive management should consider themselves proud. Very few can manage such a feat. They paid how much for Excite and they did it because...???

Well done...
