100-0 Bball score
i saw this story on the news today, needless to say those chics were horrible. it didn't show any highlights, but it did show the losing team practicing and they barely made one out of about seven LAYUPS. they were ecstatic when that shot went in, thus leading me to believe that wasn't an everyday occurrence. you know, the ball going in the basket. it was absolutely ridiculous! they deserve what ever losses they receive for being just that awful.
The winning team is now trying to forfeit the game after the moral hangover kicked in and they realized kicking the hell out of a lesser opponent probably isn't a great thing. Sure the losing team hasn't won a game in 4 years, but did they really need to be nationally embarrassed?
And the coach has now been fired. Pretty sure he still thinks it's a good move. I think it's funny he put out a press release that his morals wouldn't let him run up a score, and that his players were playing with honor and integrity. If winning 100-0 ISN'T running up the score, I'm dying to know what is.

Why would you fire a coach for winning a game? What's the point of not playing well? If they didn't want him to win or play well, they shouldn't have set up the game in the first place.
The worst thing you can do to athletes is take away or belittle a win. Sure, they should have won (and they did) so why worry the "fairness" aspect? You worry about fairness before the game, not after. If it was going to be so obviously one-sided (and with no wins in four years, the outcome was a foregone conclusion), the game shouldn't have happened at all. Let them play another school with ADD students or something...
Retarded school board...

And as far as the fairness aspect goes, it's not so much a fairness aspect, its sportsmanship. And MAYBE sportsmanship doesn't matter in the pro game, but for girls basketball in parochial schools, that's pretty much everything of why they are there. The team that lost hadn't won in 4 years, you think THEY didn't know they were going to lose before hand? But did they need to be turned into a national laughingstock? Maybe you count on a coach from the winning team to stop shooting 3's when you're up 59-0 at half. Is that hard? Pull the team into a huddle, and say run passing drills the rest of the game. If they had won 59-0 would it not have been playing well? Did they not still win?

I give the kudos to the losing team. To me, they were the winners for just moving on after the game as the article stated.
Yeah I think the coach should get repremanded for bieng a total idiot, but what about the OTHER coach? You mean to tell me you can't coach your team into a trip to the foul line and hit 1 free throw?
I would be getting my best player the ball and have them drive the lane on EVERY possession until I got a point on the board. My guess is the coach is learning disabled too.
