Default 1199 foundation in California

Hello all, anyone a member of the 1199 foundation here in CA? does it really work as advertised? I think i may need it when i get my S2000 for those of you who don't know what i'm talking about, it's a charity for CHP families in need. IE if an officer is killed in the line of duty, his family will be helped. basically if you are a member, rumor has it, you don't get speeding tickets (at least on the highway). A friend of a freind (i know, really credible info huh?) got pulled over doing 130 in his M5, the officer came up to his window SCREAMING about how unsafe blah blah blah, he showed the officer the badge for 1199 and the officer changed his demeanor and let him go.

So anyone have any experience?

you have to be more than rich to get that license plate. It is also by chance to. If you do donate the X amount of dollars required for a yearly membership, they have the right not to give you jack dandy squat. If you have some references to people who are plate holding members that may help you out. Be careful, just because you sign up doesnt guarantee you a plate
best of luck
i could use one too !

my gf's dad is a pretty big part of this....he hasnt gotten a ticket yet...but one thing that did happen was that he got into an accident...with the opposing party was at fault...they tried to lie to the cops saying that my gf's dad was at fault....because they thought that my gf's dad didnt speak english....when the guy was done...my gf's dad pulled the cop aside....and showed him the badge....he then said that the guy was lying....the report followed my gf's dad's story....dont know what that tells you....but he donates A LOT OF $$$ to the foundation...
