I do COMPLETELY agree that The United States, like any Empire, may have had it's day. The difference is, where you see failure, I see the liberated joy in reinvention.

Did anyone else notice this ad in this thread. Apparently not only can you loose weight, you can change your race too...

Reinvention? We're so far behind the curve of the other countries it's sad. Take a look at the youth of this country. I'm 28 and I can just tell you that pretty much every person that I know under 30 is some kind of screw up. Whether they live off of mom and dad, can't hold a job, in trouble with the law, don't take anything serious, think being a rapper is an honest career choice. The world is advancing, we're not. It's a bleak future. Unless we can get a grasp on alternative energy technologies to market to other countries... We're screwed.
Also, don't rule out that they're under 30, which can be a liability unto itself.

You know the wrong people under 30. I'm not saying the people you know don't exist, but it's not all of them. . .

Well, that does it for me: GPMike is officially not worth taking seriously. Lemme guess: The Bilderberg group masterminded all of it right? Obama's very birth was set in motion in the late 19th century by the elites? Obama, this election season's best example of what the Right calls the "self-made man", isn't actually who we've found him to be, he's a lizard spore that's been manufactured in a lab with the express purpose of unraveling humanity itself!
No, no listening is required here. I've heard this one before, as about 900 other fanciful stories about how I supposedly just voted for mankind's downfall.
Anything from freerepublic is worthy of an immediate ignore. They make RedState and LGF seem reasonable. I've visited FR several times, and that place is the source of rabid hate for Obama (indeed, anyone remotely sensible), let alone the death threats made there on several other public figures. FR is for tin hatters of the highest order, and the backwoods militia volunteers itching to have something to bitch about so they can shoot their AK-47s (how ironic, that). This Kremlin Obama mystery is fit for another garbage Regnery tome. I'm supposed to believe that it's entirely impossible that a man like Obama couldn't have come from where he so obviously did? Everything is a lie? Seriously, why don't you take your crap and run over with your little 9/11 conspiracy friends? That you believe that everything could be so perfectly placed, that you believe that a plan could so perfectly be developed, speaks to your critical thinking skills, or at the very least the propensity of your own anti-intellectual ego to cloud your vision.
You have willed yourself blind, deaf, and most of all, dumb. You have a conspiracy excuse for everything. The Right wing has concocted themselves another pretty F'ing death story to cry themselves to sleep to, that happens to neatly fit in with the oh-so-convenient election season name-xenophobic Obama-is-a-one-man-terrorist-cell super weapon intellectual falderol. Is this one gonna race to the top of the NYT best seller list? Are you gonna have a real blockbuster author write it, like Glenn Beck, Jerome Corsi, or some other fallacy fetishist? Every few years the Far Right trots out some new Soviet defector nobody's ever heard of that supposedly knows all this stuff, and lo and behold, it's always Democrats that get fingered. How politically convenient, no? How odd that the Right, with all that money, fails every time to bring these people to light to inform us sheep. And you'd think the Soviets would've moved on to more fruitful subversive possibilities by now, since the Democrats have obviously failed to hand us over to Moscow. Our enemies are so evil and devious, yet so simultaneously stolid...
And your vain pleas to Rome and Greece. Please. Nobody, least of all me, wants to see us lose our place, but it's not socialism's fault that it's happening. Somehow we have the greatest military and intelligence in the world, but we're patently incapable of detecting the hidden O menace? The fact is America started on its fall from power well before Obama ever entered politics. Republicans throwing our money away at needless defense overspending and pet projects, and in mortgaging our future to countries we otherwise rail against are what are causing the downfall. It's also been the defunding of what was the greatest school system in the world. That's what's dumbing us down. Not the 7,891st conspiracy theory (read: Pulitzer-worthy excuse) developed to explain the problem.
The problem with Right wingers is, they can make up anything to fit anything. Congratulations rocket surgeon: The witch hunt garbage is about 400 years out of style. Under every piece of cloth is a demon, behind every curtain an assailant, under every rock a land mine. It's a pitiful way to view the world, and it's as clinically paranoid as Stalin ever could be. Oh but us O voters, we're the sheep! We're the cowed masses! All we hear is lies! We have no sense! Tell me another one Icke. Oh but my reply is fuel for your fire; Slamnasty can't handle tha troof!
