well, I will say Honda...Civic
since you have got a S2000 from a Honda dealer...
so this time you walk in for the Civic, I believe it will be better deal for you now!! well!! it still up to you, I like Civic ...just not as much as I love my stook!

First before I start....I LOVE Hondas!!! However, I'm in the same dilemna.
I've driven both cars and in my opinion, the Protege5 is a very awesome car for the money. What I now am waiting for next year is the likely release of the Civic Hatchback Hybrid.
Go drive the Protege 5 and you'll be surprised.

Buy the Civic, Honda will be releasing a version that runs off of a similar setup as the Insight, it will be gas / electric
Perfect for a daily driver and cheap on gas!
You must keep in mind that the Protege5, althought it looks really cool, Mazda is owned by Ford, and it is just another piss-poor quality Ford car with a different badge on it

Is this a trick question or something? You know the answer or are you asking for the answer? I would venture to say none, but I may be wrong...
